The Event Coordinator is responsible for fielding requests for new events and confirming volunteers to staff scheduled events. The Event Coordinator is also responsible for supplying event details to others in the organization for marketing and publicity purposes. They will work with the event venue to confirm location, dates and duration, fees, and when applicable, assist with setup and teardown of events. The Event Coordinator will act as the point of contact for all questions related to the events that they coordinate.
Main duties of this position:
Field requests for MCRS participation for new events.
Confirm event details with the venue location.
Confirm volunteer needs to staff events.
Communicate event details for marketing and social media
Set up/tear down of events
Act as point of contact for events
Qualifications/Experience:
The person in this role should be a self-starter who can work independently but is also comfortable asking questions when they are learning.
The person in this role needs to be comfortable talking to people on the phone, via emails and text, and possibly in front of a group.
Proficiency using Google Drive or willingness to learn the program. They should have sufficient skills in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
High level of organization
Experience with rabbits is not necessary, but a love for animals and a desire to help them is.
Experience as a volunteer at a non-profit is desired.
