The Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society (MCRS) is seeking a bookkeeper to track vendor payments, receive and intake donations, and keep accurate records of all financial transactions. The Bookkeeper will work collaboratively with the Treasurer to ensure that MCRS’ fiscal and fundraising implementations are working to further the mission and vision of the organization. This role will typically require a time commitment of 5-10 hours per week.

Main duties of this position:

  • Keep accurate financial records for the corporation.  

  • Prepare financial statements for the Board of Directors on an as-needed basis (approximately bi-monthly).

  • Receive and record deposits from MCRS activities, events, programs and donations.  

  • Disburse MCRS funds and issue checks for bills and other expenses.  

  • Partner with the Treasurer to review the financial records for the corporation on a monthly basis.

  • Assist the Treasurer in creating financial statements for the Board of Directors on an as-needed basis (approximately bi-monthly).

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Accounting and/or fiscal oversight experience

  • QuickBooks Online experience

  • Highly organized

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of volunteers, adopters and funders.
