Can You Keep a Wild Rabbit as a Pet?

It's no secret to a lot of us that rabbits make wonderful pets, but if you've never had a rabbit before and you are thinking about getting one knowing more about them as pets and what to expect is important. Each month we will be sharing a video that features Actress Amy Sedaris, who is a loving mom to her own pet bunny, and rabbit expert Juney E. Cotter, Ed.D., LVT from the House Rabbit Society.

In this Month's video, learn if you can you keep a wild rabbit as a pet?

GreysonHi Everyone, it's Greyson again. If there is one thing I take very seriously, it is treats! Who better to be the taste tester?

When I hear my treat container shake I spin around and beg for one. My Mommy always laughes at my ears when I am begging. She says it looks like I may take off in flight. I'm just trying to see what's going on up on the counter! These treats are a definite must. Make them for your buns!

Carrot Cookies

1/2 cup dry oatmeal
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup carrot, grind finely
1/4 cup water

Put oatmeal, wheat flour, carrot, then water in the bowl. Mix until smooth and somewhat creamy. On a cookie sheet, get a spoon and scoop the mixture and create make individual little balls until there are no more in the bowl. Bake 350ยบ for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Treats can be refrigerated or frozen for later uses.

Becky Durham

BeckyBecky Durham was a former MCRS volunteer and is missed dearly by many of her friends at MCRS.

She truly loved the bunnies and always wanted what was best for them.

Sophia Grace

Sophia GraceSophia Grace was a sweet, loving, curious, playful and tender Holland Lop. She was loved deeply and very spoiled (in the best ways). She loved riding in a puffy, towel-lined laundry basket with her sister, Rosie, to and from her cabin in Wisconsin. She had several homes: a double decker high rise inside the screen porch for when the weather was "just right", an indoor home for winter or summer days that were just too hot, and a lake home in Wisconsin. She loved listening to her humans sing loving little rabbit songs while serving her green salads with sliced banana each morning and evening. We'll see her someday at the Rainbow Bridge in heaven!
