Hi, my name is Cricket, and I want to be the first-ever #RealTrixRabbit.
That’s right. In case you haven’t heard, Trix is running a competition to find one REAL bunny to put on its iconic box for the first time ever. It’s a fun contest, but the fact that they’re doing it to celebrate the removal of artificial colors and flavors from the cereal makes it even better!
Here are a few reasons why Trix should choose me.
1. I’m no stranger to the spotlight. This Internet fame thing isn’t new to me. Nope, far from it. Last year, with 439 votes, I won a contest to become the social media rabbit to rival Grumpy Cat and online cats in an effort to make rabbits as famous as cats on the Internet. Check out the contest’s fun promo video below!
2. I’m a hometown bunny. Just like Trix and General Mills, I’m based in the great state of Minnesota. I live in St. Paul, and am part of the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society (MCRS) network with my owner, Julie. MCRS was behind the fun “Rabbits vs. Cats” campaign that I won last year, and it was for a great cause.
MCRS is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of companion rabbits, and the contest was meant to raise awareness about domestic rabbits, and to help lower euthanasia rates and raise adoption rates. My hope is that in becoming the Real Trix Rabbit, I can help to continue to promote this mission. MCRS also organizes great social events called Hoppy Hours for us rabbits and our owners.
3. Silly Rabbit, Cricket Is For Kids. I hope I have the creativity, cuteness, and playful spirit Trix says is needed to become the Real Trix Rabbit. I mean, first off, I’m a Standard Rex rabbit, the breed made famous in the beloved children’s book The Velveteen Rabbit. And I’ve worked really hard with Julie to perfect my sideways karate-kick binkies that I’ve been doing at recent MCRS Hoppy Hours!
Trix will announce the winner of the contest after the submission period closes on November 8. If you think I would be a good fit, I would love your support. Please consider sharing this blog post on Twitter with the hashtag #RealTrixRabbit.
Thank you and wish me luck!
