One half of the MCRS’ mission is education. We take every opportunity to educate people on proper companion-rabbit behavior and care. Our education events include day camps in partnership with the Animal Humane Society, Twin Cities Pet Expo, Hoppy Hour social events for bunnies, and smaller information events at local pet supply stores. Additionally, our dedicated volunteers take answer questions from the general public through email and voicemail communications. All information on this site is intended for people seeking information about indoor, companion rabbits. Pet rabbits living outdoors, breeding rabbits, or livestock rabbits have different needs (such as different caloric intake and different housing needs) that are not addressed here.
We’ve revised our education materials to better help people with information about proper feeding, handling and living with rabbits, proper companion rabbit care, and bonding. These materials are available at all five Animal Humane Society locations, on this website (under Rabbit Care), and at Twin Cities area Petco stores. We will be adding more information as time goes on. In the meantime, check out our site and let us know if you have any questions.
